In spite of all good intentions, true wills and generous donations by individuals and organizations to build and manage orphanages in Egypt, these orphanages continue to lack the QUALITY & BASIC STANDARDS which fulfill health, functional, psychological and behavioral needs of orphaned girls and boys. These standards are necessary in order to help orphans become reintegrated as normal and productive members in society.   In order to properly define and solve the orphans’ problems, four elements should be considered:

  • The orphanage’s infrastructure living conditions
  • The orphanage’s social environment including care providers
  • The community and its institutions that have direct or indirect impacts on orphans’ lives
  • The orphans themselves and their physical, psychological, professional and moral development
